Members of the design community were invited down to a special LBDA 2019 sharing session on Tuesday 11 June.
Held at the Bulthaup showroom on 36 Armenian Street, the intimate session kickstarted with a presentation by LBDA Programme Director & Lookbox Living Editor Janice Seow, who took guests through the highlights of this year’s awards programme.
LBDA was unique, said Janice, because it was the first and only awards programme here dedicated solely to recognising the interior designers in Singapore doing great homes.
The response from the industry since the programme’s inception in 2017 has been “very encouraging”, Janice shared, adding that “the quality of the projects being entered underscored the growth of the country’s residential interior design sector, and was clear proof that Singapore had no shortage of design talent.”
LBDA 2019 judges Peter Tay (Peter Tay Studio), Kelley Cheng (The Press Room), Nikki Hunt (Design Intervention) and Marc Webb and Naoko Takenouchi (Takenouchi Webb) were there to offer advice to attending designers. And in the second half of the programme, each came up to share insights into their own work and creative processes.
To conclude this segment, Kelley gave a rousing presentation on the right ways to approach the media and get one’s self published.
We want to thank all guests and speakers who made this such a memorable event!
